This fly is named after one of the most patient, friendly and professional guides it has ever been my privilege to fish with, Gilbert Figueroa. We were fishing in November of 2021 on a day the wind was blowing 40KMH and Gilbert put us on large bonefish. My partner took 9 bonefish between 6lb. and 8 lb. on this fly. I, on the other hand, could not handle the wind and blew cast after cast. Gilbert never lost his patience or encouraging attitude with me all day long.
